Scope/Activity Statement
MAPIX-M is to create countywide DFIRM panels, DFIRM Database, and FIS report for Santa Barbara County and incorporated areas incorporating a restudy of a portion of Arroyo Burro Creek watershed as well as 20 other stream reaches. The digital panels will depict flood hazard data overlain on aerial photographs provided by the U.S. Geological Survey. In addition, the data will be created in GIS format, which will allow municipal governments to combine it with their local GIS for floodplain management and land use planning. The countywide DFIRM and FIS report will become effective September 30, 2005.
