Yavapai County, AZ DFIRM
MAPIX-M is to upgrade the countywide DFIRM panels and FIS report for Yavapai County and incorporated areas as well as create a countywide DFIRM Database. The current FIRM for Yavapai County was published on June 6, 2001. The digital panels will depict flood hazard data overlain on recent aerial photographs provided by the county and/or the U.S. Geological Survey. In addition, the data will be created in GIS format, which will allow municipal governments to combine it with their local GIS for floodplain management and land use planning.
Current Activities
Revised Preliminary Countywide DFIRM and FIS were issued December 7, 2007. A date for a Letter of Final Determination (LFD) and effective date is yet to be determined.
Final CCO Meeting
A final CCO meeting was held at Yavapai County offices in Prescott, AZ on January 7, 2008 where the Revised Preliminary DFIRM and FIS were reviewed, and the communities had a chance to present questions or concerns with the products to FEMA and MAPIX-M. Copies of the GIS Shape files and PDF's of the DFIRM panels were given to Yavapai County to distribute to communities. Contact Yavapai County for these data:
